Business environment set more improvement

THE government through Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) will continue improving the current business and investment environment to attract more local and foreign investments.

Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office (Investment& Facilitation), Dr Mary Nagu, told a delegation of Chinese investors that Tanzania was creating a conducive environment that would stimulate business and investments growth in the country.

“We are fully committed to have conducive and enabling business environment that will enable us to widen up the base of more service provision and boost the economic growth,” Dr Nagu said during the dinner hosted in honour of visiting investors.

He said it was an undeniable fact that the government’s budget is not enough to meet requirements of every Tanzania of providing employment and good social service.

“It is our hope that if the business environment is improved more investors come forward and inject their capital into different sectors of economy hence bringing a multiplier effect to the country,” the minister said.

She said the delegation comprised  investors from 15 big companies  in China who were encouraged  the  recent visit of their president  Xi JinPing.

“While in Tanzania , the President of United Republic of  People’s of  China, Mr JinPing  directed Chinese investors to invest in Africa particularly in the country where there are abundant of investment opportunities,” she  noted.

The minister also took the splendid opportunity to invite them to seize the available investment opportunities and exploit services rendered by the investment centre.

Earlier, the  TIC acting Executive Director,  Mr Raymond Mbilinyi, said after meeting  the investors have shown interest to come and invest into different sectors of economy.

 “They met public and private companies where they shown interest to invest in education, electricity, infrastructure, agriculture and health,” Mr Mbilinyi explained.

According to Mr Mbilinyi, China is among the leading countries having more investments in Tanzania.

“We (TIC) have been a lot encouraged especially after our two presidents (Kikwete and Jin Ping) to show the way and commitment there the private sectors in both countries need fully utilize the opportunities.
